How to Apply
1. Complete Medical School

Graduate from an accredited MD or DO medical school.

If you are an International Medical Graduate (IMG), obtain ECFMG certification before starting residency.
2. Pass Required Licensing Exams

MD students: USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK
-
DO students: COMLEX Level 1 and Level 2
-
Per Medical Board of California rules, all passing scores must be less than ten years old by the start of residency

The interview committee will review scores to determine interview eligibility
3. Gain Family Medicine Experience

Complete Family Medicine rotations
-
Gain clinical experiences in the field of family medicine
-
Seek outpatient, community health, rural medicine, or primary care experiences.

Build relationships with Family Medicine faculty who can write strong recommendation letters. Our program requires three letters of recommendation.
4. Prepare Your Application
We are participants of ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service).

The program does not participate in signaling
Interview Selection Criteria
Eligible Applicants must submit their applications through ERAS. We screen candidates’ applications before inviting/scheduling interviews. After screening, we will offer interviews to candidates whose abilities, personal interests and needs best match our philosophy and curriculum. Interviews typically begin in late October and are conducted through the beginning of January each year.
